Selling vs crafting Steam cards: which is better
What actually changes depending on whether cards are crafted into a badge or sold on the market, and how to decide.
Crafting spends the cards
Crafting a badge consumes the full set that made it. Once crafted, those specific cards are gone from inventory; what remains is the badge, the XP, and anything the badge itself unlocked.
Selling keeps the value liquid
Selling the same cards on the market instead turns them into Steam Wallet funds, at whatever the market is paying per card that day, minus the market's fee. Nothing is unlocked; the cards simply become spendable balance.
There is no undo
Crafted cards cannot be uncrafted back into sellable cards, and sold cards cannot be un-sold to craft with later. The choice is final at the moment either action is taken, which is why it is worth deciding on purpose rather than by default.
The practical rule of thumb
If the level and the badge are the actual goal, crafting is the only path that gets there. If the goal is Steam Wallet funds and the level does not matter, selling is the more direct one. Buying a ready set sidesteps the question for the games actually being levelled, since Gameza's bots already hold the assembled set rather than needing one built from loose cards.
