Questions
What are my TF2 keys worth in real money?
We publish one flat buying price per key, shown on this page and on the store page. It sits below the in-game shop price, because a new key can always be bought from Valve, and below the Steam Market price, because the market pays in Steam Wallet funds that cannot be withdrawn.
Why not just sell keys on the Steam Community Market?
You can, and the price is public. But the market pays Steam Wallet funds, minus its fee, and Wallet funds only ever buy games and items. There is no withdrawal. Selling outside Steam is the only way the value leaves the platform.
Do I need anything set up before I sell?
Turn on the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator and leave it on. Without it Steam holds traded items for up to fifteen days, which stalls the trade for both of us.
How do I know the trade offer is really from you?
Open it from your own Steam client or from steamcommunity.com rather than from a link, and check the item names and quantities in full against what the site told you to expect. We never message you first on Steam to arrange a trade.
