Steam level rewards: what a higher level actually gets you
What changes on a Steam profile as the level goes up, in plain terms, and what stays the same no matter the level.
More friends, more showcases
A higher level raises the friend list limit and unlocks additional profile showcases, the boxes on a profile page that display favourite games, screenshots, badges or achievements.
Badge and background variety
Every badge crafted along the way, including the account's own level badge, can be shown off as a profile showcase. Foil badges and rarer profile backgrounds earned through crafting are part of the same collection.
What level does not do
Level has no effect on game access, pricing, matchmaking or anything inside a game itself. It is entirely a community-profile number, which is also why it is safe to buy the cards behind it without touching anything account-sensitive.
